This 1916 house on the hill is conveniently located near downtown Akron , the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (6 miles/11 min drive) and the Blossom Music Center (8 miles/15 min drive). Street exits directly off highway Rt. 8 North and South making for an easy drive to Cleveland, Canton, and Cuyahoga Falls. . Memorial Parkway Trailhead and BARC Dog Park 2 min. drive/ 12 min. walk. Pet Friendly, Pet Fees do Apply. $25 per day/per day 1 pet Maximum.

This is an older home with lots of charm. Our home isn't newly constructed. So we ask that you expect some things to be imperfect. For example the floors and steps may creek, you may have to give drawers and cabinets an extra pull or push. But all of these things can be expected considering the age of the house. We like to call it character.

The driveway is on a hill, so if your vehicle is low to the ground, cut your wheels when pulling in and out of the driveway to avoid scraping spoiler due to the slope of the drive. Be cautions of traffic and pedestrians when backing out. There is room for two large cars.

Due to the proximity of the house to downtown, there is a steady flow of traffic until about 6pm nightly during the week.

Guest agree to hold harmless the host and property owner of any liability as a result of a pet on the premises or use of the property and its contents. Mature non aggressive dogs under 50 lbs. No pets allowed on furnishings or beds. Any sign of excessive hair on the furnishings and bedding will be a violation of the house rules and may result in the loss of your security deposit as well as an additional cleaning fee of (up to $250).
Clean after pet. We charge $25 Per pile of feces that we pick up from the yard after your stay.

We hope that you enjoy the beautiful green surroundings of the house. Enjoy an outdoor lunch at the shared picnic area with grill while watching the cars go down the hill.

Absolutely, no smoking, drugs parties or illegal activity on the property.

Graduation Trip
The house was great except 2 things. The stairs have short treads so my big feet husband grumbled about that. The driveway is very steep which makes it hard to park. Other than that it was great

What a great stay!
The location is ideal, near many trails, restaurants, and microbreweries. The owners are very kind and provide a very clean and safe home to share with others. The water cooler in the dining room is a big plus, especially after nice long hikes on one of the nearby trails. My daughter and her family live in the area, and we had plenty of space to visit in the living room and share some meals in the dining room. The most favorable thing I can say about my stay is this: I look forward to coming back!

Weekend stay
The house was as advertised, old but has character. The house is well decorated and we appreciated the extra touches like mints by the door, q-tips, cotton balls and floss sticks in the bathroom and spices in the kitchen. The driveway is a bit tricky, as it is steep and easy to bottom out on. The neighbors were playing music very loudly one night into the early morning, which is no fault of the owner, but definitely affected our sleep. There is no central air, 2 of the bedrooms have window AC units, which were great, but the 3rd bedroom did not, so keep that in mind if you plan to use it for sleep, as it was pretty warm. Otherwise, we had a good experience.

Older home, but very nice
Had a great stay. House is older, but newly renovated. It's located on a roadway that stays pretty busy, but otherwise very nice. Property manager was great and sent us messages daily to make sure we had everything we needed.

Great home base for exploring Akron/Cleveland
My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful old home. It was very easy to get to Stan Hywet Hall from there and within easy driving distance to stores and restaurants in Akron. The house was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. It is on a busy road so sometimes we had to wait a few minutes to be able to back out but it was manageable. LaVone was a great hostess and she was very responsive when we communicated with her. Overall it was a great stay!

Outstanding location for Akron attractions
We couldn't have imagined a better location for our long weekend to see Stan Hywett, Cuyahoga Falls, Gorge Metro Park, along with so many other parks. 10-30 minutes to parks and wineries. The home is over 100 years old, which we loved, and why we picked it over other places, and having a gas range made it the perfect choice. Creaky wood floors, original woodwork, old built in cabinets. It's exactly as pictured. Well stocked with anything you might have forgotten, along with a fully equipped office space. Also best TP we've ever found at a rental, including Hilton, LOL. We were there during COVID-19 restrictions, and LaVone provided everything to make sure we could feel secure. Pin pad locks on both doors so no key needed. Cute martini mixing station set up in the Dining Room. We found so many dining options it was hard to choose, but def Lock 15 Brewery was outstanding, even with restrictions. Unfortunately, many of the Art District and other attractions were closed during our visit, but we were only there for 3 nights, and couldn't have seen them all anyway. We would stay there again.

Comfortable and convenient
Great little house to stay in for a family wedding weekend. It was a very convenient location. The street is rather busy, but no problem leaving the driveway as long as it was not during rush hour. Always felt very safe. The owners had nearly everything on hand that we may have needed. Definitely check out the nearby breweries for excellent food and craft beer.
