Ryokans in Akita Prefecture

"Room was small but functional for one person and one can easily open a large suitcase on the floor which is not possible for most of the business hotels in Japan. Despite being on the first floor (floor 2) there was no sound from outside (a car park), no sound from any neighbours. The onsen was a major highlight open throughout afternoon, night and early morning so one can avoid the crowds. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Akita."

"Short walking distance from Akita station. Room was nice, but very basic. View was of the building, but I don't mind not having a view. Close to 7-11 which is inbetween the hotel and the station."

"After a couple weeks of typical small business hotel rooms in Japan, I was surprised to find a spacious single room waiting after check in. Excellent location as well, steps from the station entrance (can even walk inside, although it’s a bit of a maze through a shopping mall)"

"I booked this hotel at a pretty good value. I wasn't expecting much, but if this was the price range of Daiwa hotels in other Prefectures, and if the quality is consistent then I'd definitely keep booking! First of all, the hotel seems pretty new, or at least recently renovated. Interiors are modern & up to date. Staff are friendly & helpful. The rooms is slightly larger than a typical Japanese business hotel. This is especially evident in the bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower & bath area, a large sink and a fancy Toto toilet. The bed is slightly bigger, too. It seems like a full double with 2 pillows, and even has a small lounge & table (aside from the vanity). It also has a trouser press installed. The public spa area was one of the biggest I've been to. While I don't think it was a natural spring, the sento was large, lockers were plentiful, and the sauna can fit maybe 6 people at a time. They have the laundry area in the baths so you can do it while you soak. Otherwise, there's also a fancy massage chair you can use. "

"Excellent location. This is a small hotel surrounded by restaurants, cafés, etc. As it was a tatami room, I was expecting the possibility of musky odor, but thankfully there was none! 😊 Room was just right for 3 people max. The futon was soft & comfy & warm despite the crazy Akita winter (personally it was too warm, I was sweating. 😂) The only con is, because we left the window slightly ajar for air flow, we could hear the very loud & obnoxious laugh from another guest's room (I think?) which was parallel to our windows. It went on from 12~2am. Not exactly their fault & we were too sleepy to complain. 😂 "

"Super nice getaway. There is not much around but this hotel is pretty much an all inclusive. They feed you breakfast and dinner buffet with late night snack as well. The food was great and overall was highly impressed with the value. Be careful planning your transportation too and from though as it is very limited. "
