We like more Chapala, than Ajijic.
Ajijic is a lovely little village that seems to be a meca for retiring ex pats. The people are very friendly and sweet, the food and dining options are fantastic and it is extremely affordable. The lake view is beautiful. Very slow paced!
Ajijic and the surrounding towns are great to Visit or to stay at. It's so nice, many people have decided to move here. Unfortunately, the roads weren't designed to accommodate the amount of people that are there now. Traffic is like living in LA.
Charming Pueblo as it has been and will be for years. Restaurants, lounges, coffee shops, artisans, Lake Chapala, the Malecon, the Lake Chapala Society ..for contact with the American community. Love it !
The Black & White Coffee Shop in the principal plaza has the best cappachino in town and is a great place to people-watch. The Chili Verde restaurant on the West side of the plaza has the best authentic Mexican food in town. It is a vibrant town!
