"The stores were all closed when we arrived on a Tuesday but the hotel was lovely and the staff were wonderful. The good was very good and the outdoor bath was heavenly. "

"NO TATTOOS. Is the first sign you see when checking in. Perhaps if you have a small discrete tattoo, they will still permit you to use their hot-baths on site. Ideal for couples, seniors, less so for families with children. The beds were quite hard. The in-room food service was very good, as was the breakfast buffet. Both indoor and outdoor onsen was very nice, with the outdoor one having a nice view of Gifu Castle. "

"We had the halfboard option which means dinner and bfast the next day included. We sure glad we did, dinner n bfast was awesome service and we enjoyed the traditional japanese food a lot. "We drove to the ryokan from Nagoya Centrair and had no problems finding it. Parking was free and it was conveniently located right next to the ropeway (which was great!). Food was delicious and the onsen was great too. The only negative feedback I have is that certain parts of the room was dusty and perhaps the room needs to be cleaned more. Otherwise, it was an very pleasant overall stay."

"We loved our time in Gifu! The ryokan was in a lovely quiet part of Gifu surrounded front and back by parks. The staff spoke a little English and we even less Japanese but it didn’t matter- they were so helpful and kind and so friendly -they even did our laundry and drove us to the train station as part of the service!!! There is an onsen - on the top floor. Everything very clean and old world traditional. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. "

"夜御飯食べにフロントで教えて頂いた居酒屋はやはり盆休み、、。近くでやってたのはインド料理。。また、雨降りそうでしたが、レンタル傘なさそうだったので、傘無しで行きましたが、帰りは土砂降りの中、大変でした。 風呂は悪くはなく、帰りは近くの駐車場まで送って頂けたのは、雨強かったので、助かりました。玄関出たところで、たまたま良い運転手さんに会えたから良かったです。"

"We were a family with young children and stayed for 4 nights. The hotel itself is great - the size and amenities available (they have a whole range of baby items and other handy items that you can request for FOC) is unbeatable in Japan. However, the location of the property itself is in a seedy area, amidst rows of very colorful nightclubs. On the first night, we were awoken at 2am by a fight but otherwise we got back by 8.30pm every night and never felt unsafe."
