"We stayed here as a couple but also as part of a larger family group, including my niece and nephew (12 and 8 respectively). Our room was the Illingworth room. It was huge, facing out across the road to the lovely old church. Road noise was minimal and the bed extremely comfy with good pillows which were not too soft, perfect for us. We slept well. "It’s the second time we’ve stayed. The first time in July so it was lovely to see a period Inn decked out for Christmas. We met with locally placed relatives for dinner which was lovely. Staff all friendly, especially Yvonne who does the breakfast shift and settled our bill. The Inn has great views and an enjoyable experience overall."

"The property was in the most beautiful setting. It was a detached building housing 2 downstairs bedrooms. It was spotless and the staff were so lovely. It was warm and very welcoming. We included the breakfast and it was delicious "

"Fantastic place to stay. We used it as a base to visit the lakes and dales for a couple of days. Hotel/pub was in a lovely little village. We were in the Superior room which had a lovely view overlooking the river. Room itself was big with a nice comfortable double bed. Cleanliness was ok, room had clearly been cleaned however just a few marks on the wall. This didn't matter too much or affect our stay. Bathroom was a good size and clean. "Stayed here in 2023 and excellent once again. Lovely room 1 Pen-y-gent the walk in shower i wish i could take home. Plenty of tea coffee in room and toiletries. Had steak and ale pie with veg and chips. Big chunks of tender meat in luscious gravy, chips were home made and not the usual frozen ones! Meal was excellent. "Overall a good cheap little hotel. Didn’t try the food. Had some drinks. Disappointed I couldn’t taste the wine before buying (bottle was open. Got told no you can’t taste it but you can smell it!) 😂 that’s a first for me. "

"With so much to do and see in the Yorkshire dales, the Plough Inn is the perfect location. Very friendly and helpful staff escorting us to the room and making sure we were comfortable. Friendly bar staff providing a good selection of wines, beers and spirits at sensible prices. The restaurant menu is perfect. Simple and straightforward choice and the food is the same, just perfect."

"Really enjoyed our stay. Only negative was that the dinner menu was the same each night. The staff were very friendly and polite. A very dog friendly hotel too - you had the option to have meals in a nice room with your dog - this isn’t the case in some dog friendly hotels. Would stay again."

"Local, family managed hotel, located on a beautiful spot of the river. Lovely vibe, and welcoming and the breakfast was exceptional!! It’s not a Holiday Inn /Marriott formulaic residence, much more of an authentic local hotel, so without some of the frills, but the honest warm welcome and great food more than makes up"

Holiday Inn Express Hotel Burnley M65 JCT10, an IHG Hotel

"Lovely room, warm, clean and well presented and the breakfast was excellent. What spoil the stay was the constant background hum in the room, some sort of mechanical noise, pump or generator that made sleeping near impossible. Not ideal when you have a long drive the next day. It was not the room heating system as I turned that off. The other issue with the room was the height of the toilet, the only time I have seen toilets that low are in the local infants schools. It was a ridiculous height for a normal size adult "

Great hotel

"Fantastic place to stay. We used it as a base to visit the lakes and dales for a couple of days. Hotel/pub was in a lovely little village. We were in the Superior room which had a lovely view overlooking the river. Room itself was big with a nice comfortable double bed. Cleanliness was ok, room had clearly been cleaned however just a few marks on the wall. This didn't matter too much or affect our stay. Bathroom was a good size and clean. Could have done with some toiletries (no shower gel provided). Breakfast was fabulous - pastries, cereals and full English and great quality!! We ate in the bar one of the evenings, food was good and reasonably priced. Parking was free. Staff were nice, in particular Dave who was great and couldn't be more helpful!!! We will definitely return as there is so much more to explore in the area and would 100% choose The New Inn as our base. "
