"Breathtaking Location, Warm Staff – But Needs Improvement in Comfort and Value Jiva Baluam is set in a truly stunning location nestled in a secluded bay with a private beach that feels like your own paradise. The natural beauty is overwhelming, and the bungalows are located right on the sand. It’s a place where you can fully disconnect and enjoy nature. However, the resort is very remote – there are no alternative dining options within 30 minutes, so you’re fully dependent on the in-house restaurant. Unfortunately, the food quality doesn’t justify the high prices. The Indonesian breakfast (like Nasi Goreng) was okay, but the Western breakfast was quite disappointing in both taste and presentation. The resort has been around for over ten years and is beginning to show signs of age. Some renovations would definitely enhance the guest experience. The bungalows are charming, but not well-equipped: there’s no fridge, which is a real downside given the isolation, especially since cold drinks from the restaurant are very expensive. Also, there’s no kettle – as an early riser, I found it frustrating that I couldn’t have tea or coffee until the restaurant opened at 8 a.m. On the bright side, the staff are wonderfully kind and helpful, and the WiFi is excellent surprisingly strong for such a remote location. In summary, Jeeva Baluam offers a magical natural setting and warm hospitality, but it would benefit greatly from thoughtful upgrades and a more guest-friendly infrastruct,"

"We booked it staying there before hiking at Mount Rinjani. We didn’t expect much but the views are stunning. The gardens are elegant, the infinity pool overlooks a gorge, mountains, lowlands and the ocean. We should have stayed here more nights. The service was impeccable and the room was spotless. "

"This property looks good from outside as a tea house, but the hotel rooms are downstairs and are not easy to access. The stair way has steep steps. The rooms are very small and simple with minimum furniture. The bathroom has a smell as the sewage is not sealed properly. The room pictures listed are very misleading. The real condition is actually very primitive. Not recommended."
