Poor
The only good thing about this hotel was its position. Also not expensive.Hard to find - set back off the road and not signed well. Limited parking in front - lucky we were early! The girl who checked us in had no English at all.We were unable to open our door, very complicated lock. Bed was two singles pushed together. Only one bed lamp. Bathroom terrible - light did not work, shower head broken - had to hold it in one hand.Floors were putrid! My husband always walks around in bare feet and they were black! The room did not have a safe or'fridge.Breakfast was rolls, croissants and tea/coffee. We would not return to this hotel. Have never said that before. We are a well travelled couple and definitely not fussy!

Difficult parking/location, difficult management
The first problem was finding the hotel and how to get to the parking lot. When we figured that out, the parking lot was small and very minimal spaces to park. The lady at the front desk was very polite when we arrived. We received the room key to what was suppose to be a nice stay for 4 people. It was an absolute dump; old dirty sheets, dirty floors, the ac wasn't turned on ahead of time, nor were windows opened. Very tight space between two rooms, having to walk through one bedroom to get to the bathroom. We found hair in the bed sheets, as well as, live ants crawling around. When we spoke with the gentleman at the desk, he was very rude, would not give us our money back nor give up another room. He said that's what we get for booking through expedia. I explained I also have and have never had a problem. We showed him the issues in the room, changes the bed sheets that only had the ants in them and left the rest. We asked for extra towels to sleep on top of and they too came back with stains and human hair on them. We left bright and early in the morning, restless and disgusted. We will never stay here again and do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Agrigento hotel stay
Hotel Amici is in a central position near the railway station and is also in walking distance of lots of restaurants. The staff were very helpful but the bathroom could have been better cleaned particularly the floor. It was good to find a hotel in the town with parking.

convenient, but dumpy
Our double bed was two singles put together, so it wasn't very confortable. The room was made to look clean but there was little attention to details. And breakfast was horrible. Horrible. Prepackaged crackers set out every night for the next day's breakfast. The location was fine for getting about town to the incredible sights and staff was friendly.

Great location in center of town, but parking lot was small and full. Beds were a little stiff. Not the best hotel for the money.

Great Service!
We only stayed for one night because we were only in Agrigento to see the valley of the temples but the front desk at the hotel was great!! They even let us print out our boarding passes on their computer and they also held our luggage for us while we explored the town. Overall great one day experience.

Hotel Amici, Agrigento
Excellent central location enabling an easy evening walk to local bars and restaurants. Would have been difficult to reach by car, however, without SatNav. Bathroom very large, so the tiny corner shower, with very little turning or bending room, was disappointing. Wash basin tap loose and without plug. Toilet roll holder broken. Surfeit of towels not matched by the dearth of complimentary toiletries. "Breakfast" offering was probably the most basic and unsatisfactory ever encountered. Staff friendly and helpful.

OK for a couple of days
Good transit from the town down to the Valley of the Temples. Bus also stops part way down the hill, beside the museum. Nice restaurants throughout the town. If heading southeast by train, it only goes to Canicatti, a bus takes you to Gela and then train service resumes. Never have seen so many table grapes under sun protection as on our ride east. They must supply all of Europe!

Staff very accommodating
I did not like the room that was designated for me upon arrival. The staff at the desk readily changed it to more pleasant quarters. Also, I had trouble with my adaptor, and they lent me one quickly. The breakfast was fine Italian style.

Good location, so close to Rail station
When you walk out from the station, you already saw the Hotel's name. It just take 3 minutes walk. Room is clean and facility is standard. Wifi is not available at room, only available at lobby. Close to the bus stop to the Valley of Temple. It also close to the main street for dinning.

Hotel is just a few paces from the train station (kind of hidden behind a Europcar outlet) in the centre of Agrigento. I thought the hotel was good value for money with friendly staff.

Not a good stay
The only good thing about this hotel is it's lobby area, newly decorated with a modern feel and clean. The room, on the contrary, is old, crowded and feels like it hasn't been upgraded for a long time. Staff, in general, are not friendly. Location wise it is pretty good - within walking distance to busy shopping streets and restaurants.

A comfortable hotel.
The bathroom seemed to have a leaking water issue as there were pools of water along one wall. Also used shampoo sachets from previous guest still in bathroom when I checked in. But overall room clean and comfortable.

Not bad....not good....
Hotel Amici is decent for a one night stay...and that's about it. The room was clean enough, the air con worked well, but the bathroom was quite disgusting (mold on the walls, peeling plaster). Good enough location (literally across from the road from the train station and down the street from the bus station). Close to pedestrian areas. Breakfast was cheap and selection was limited.

Agrigento was made more beautiful by Amici
Loved our stay in Agrigento, made all the better by Hotel Amici. The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially the lady on reception who gave us the name of the fabulous restaurant Kalós across the road in Piazzetta San Calogero. This was the best food we had in Sicily. The only downside to Hotel Amici was breakfast and some other noisy guests . The first morning we had an OK breakfast but the coffee was TERRIBLE! The second morning there was no juice or water and only a few over ripe peaches. The young girl looking after the breakfast room didn't seem to care. Also on our last night there, some other guests came in at 1am and were very loud, this went on until after 2am and they were not asked by reception to be quiet. I know this might seem like a negative review but we were very happy over all with our stay and we loved Agrigento.

More like two star
Very small room. Hard to take shower - hand held shower head that did not fit into the holder. Breakfast was melba toast and only one bread roll. Wife did get a crossant, but was the worst breakfast out of 7 hotels we stayed, although most of the others were 4 star versus 3 star.

A hotel that gives you what you paid for.
The rooms are fairly basic, containing a bed a desk and a television but that's to be expected as it's a cheap hotel. The bathroom for me was large however instead of a proper shower they had simply attatched a shower to one of the walls over a drain which resulted in most of the bathroom being flooded for hours after each shower until it dried or was pushed into the drain with a side of your foot. The bidet was slightly broken but as I would never use it anyway it doesn't matter to me at all. The rooms were very clean apart from a few hairs in the bathroom which I didn't care about. The hotel is in a very good place, next to the train station and just down the hill from the bus station. It is also in a good position to walk to the Valle di templi from and for walking into Agrigento. The staff were a mixed bunch, 50% were very helpful and the other 50% probably wouldn;t help if you were on fire. I would recommend the hotel for anyone who simply wants a cheap place to lay their body down at night and doesn't plan on spending a lot of time in the room.

Nice and clean Hotel. Good breakfast menu and very well located close to downtown and also to the main touristic area of the Valley of the Temples. Reception people very nice and helpful always looking after us. A little tricky to get to the hotel because the direction of the streets. I recomend the hotel when visiting Agrigento

Location is fine for Train Station - not bad but..
After a lacklustre check-in at reception (had spent an hour carting luggage trying to find the place as map was wrong at the time - corrected now) I was given a small room with a back alley view. Sure the room was small, but the bathroom was so small that you could not enter or leave it without bumping into the sink, the toilet or the bidet. Breakfast was just a number of packaged items and croissants. It is very close to train-station and buses to get to Valley of the Temples and for walking the town.

Good hotel - great location
Very happy with this hotel. Got the train to Agrigento from Palermo and this hotel was right next to Agrigento Centrale. Staff were very friendly and had good english. Room was clean, and good for the price we paid. We were there in October. Just a five minute walk to the main street in Argigento. The bus stop to the Valley of the Temples was just very close to the hotel. Brrakfast was ok too. Would reccomend this hotel to anyone who wants a decent, cheapish hotel close to everything.

Agrigento's Gem
This hotel has everything going for it. It's centrally located, where just a few steps from its front door are Agrigento's numerous restaurants and Agrigento's shopping street, Atenea. Of course it's a perfect place to stay when you want to be near historical sites like the Valley of the Temples. Besides having reasonable rates, I was totally impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of its staff; especially with the receptionist who spoke excellent English. She offered to place telephone calls for me so I could contact relatives who only spoke Italian; and then once reached, she acted as the interpreter for us. Without her help my visit would not have been as successful as it turned out to be. She helped me make vital genealogical connections with my Sicilian family and immensely aided in discoveries of my Sicilian ancestors, which I am now sharing with my American relatives. This hotel fit all of my needs and more, thus it turned out to be a true gem for me!
