The house is situated at the centre of Aegina Town, the neighborhood is very quiet, 1 minute walk to the beach. The port is less than 5 minutes walk from the house and within minutes nearby bus station , taxis ,car and bicycle rentals, taverns, restaurants, super markets, tourist shops, bars and clubs.
The owner of the villa will be at the port to welcome you and guide you home, as well as provide all necessary information and details concerning the house. He will also share his local knowledge and offer his insights and tips for a perfect vacation.
In the centre of the Saronic Gulf you discover Aegina, an island with rich historical and archaeological monuments, the first capital of the Greek Democracy. Aegina combines the sandy beaches with the beauty of the hills, over flown from pistachio trees and pine forest. The ancient Temple of Aphaia, dedicated to goddess Athena, is one of the architectural masterpieces of Ancient Greece and the most important archaeological site of the island, located in a pine forest looking the deep blue Aegean Sea. Another historical site of the island is the Temple of Apollo and the famous orthodox Monastery of Agios Nektarios. There is also a boat trip to the nearby island of Moni.
Aegina is located only 40 minutes from Piraeus with a flying dolphin or 1 hour and 15 minutes with a ferry boat. Piraeus is the closest port to Aegina Island. During summertime hydrofoils and boats depart from the port of Piraeus every 30 to 40 minutes. The distance from Athens international airport to Piraeus is approximately 1,5 hour by bus or 50 minutes by taxi.
