McLaren in the City is a beautiful cottage built in the 1880. A delightful, quiet place to stay, with unique internal and external courtyards, and light-filled kitchen and meals area.

Secure parking is provided on-site for your own vehicle accessed through a rear roller door to the property. This is best suited for small to medium sized cars.

Location location location
It’s the perfect spot to explore all of Adelaide and the surrounding towns. It’s a quiet and quaint neighborhood. The botanical garden is amazing and the art gallery is close by too. Lots of places to explore.

Perfect Location
The property was in a great location and didn't want for much. Just around the corner are restaurants, coffee shops and very friendly people. Free bus to the main part of Adelaide around the corner also. It was a bright and cheery property and very comfortable.

Perfect Adelaide City Cottage
Great ... all mod cons, well appointed really lovely experience. Rebecca is very accommodating and good communicator ... my sister and I recommend a meal at Street Scene and Raj on Taj during your warm welcoming stay.

Great spot close to city
The property is in the old part of Adelaide very close to the city and some good eating spots and bars. The beds were super comfy and the air-conditioning was well appreciated due to the 42 degree heat. The main thing that would not bring me back to this property is the car parking at the back is very hard to get into and out of and is the only option outside of 1 hour parks on the street.

I loved this area of restored heritage homes and flowered boulevards.
This property is larger than expected, has high ceilings and is very bright with the large windows. It is updated and clean-great bathroom. The parking space was really appreciated even though it's a little tight when exiting. It is a shock though to only have instant coffee provided! I never realized that this is the norm in the Australian rental units as I have never come across this in all my travels across Canada, USA, Europe etc. It would be nice to see some coffee machines in the accommodations. Who drinks instant coffee?? Other than that, this is a lovely accommodation.

4 Night Stay
Very comfortable stay with easy access to all city attractions. Although we used our car to drive to beaches, our favourite activity was the free bike hire (easy walk to Bike SA store) as we rode along the parks parallel to Hutt St all the way up to Botanic gardens, then on to the zoo and cricket ground. House is very quiet, clean and has all the amenities for an enjoyable stay.

The house was clean despite the mouldy rank smell, kitchen was a bit lacking in supplies and sink in the bathroom was difficult to use. This is definitely a rental only property so don’t expect the amenities a home would have! We were unable to get any response from the host on the day of check-in until the 10th phone call. We also had to reach out to Home Away for their assistance as well. Don’t expect anything Luxury about this booking experience! Overall the house was fine, and I would probably stay there again if I had to, just because the location was convenient. If you just need somewhere to crash, it is a good spot! Just wanted to share those details for other guests to have a bit more of a dose of reality going into it. Don’t expect to hear from the host or have easy access to entry.

Excellent property and great location
We really enjoyed our time at McLaren in the city, our stay was extremely comfortable, the neighbours are friendly and it felt like we were living in our own home. A very clean and spacious cottage with all amenities. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at the property again as it's so close to the Hutt St café/restaurant precinct and the walk into town is quick and easy.
