"It is a beautiful property, near the main roadso easy to find. The staff are all lovely, friendly etc. The main problem was a mix up with my partners breakfast, the order was not correct when he cleary stated what he wanted. Nothing major but annoying and shouldn't happen "

"The actual hotel is really very good and the rooms are outstanding. Nice grounds, nice pool and the food was also of a decent quality. Now on a road trip around South Africa, you get used to warnings about safety and taking care of belongings. Here we were welcomed with a lengthy delivery on all the steps the hotel was taking and what in turn we needed to do, which even by SA standards appeared a bit alarming, so made you think the surrounding area must be a huge 'worry'. "Fantastic place. Great home-cooked food cooked and served in a home-style atmosphere by the staff on a deck with amazing views. Would highly recommend as a base for exploring Addo. The property also has giraffes and sheep, both of which walked directly past our room!"

"Rooms nicely air conditioned and clean . Pool and grounds well kept. Found pool area lounges needing upgrade..very uncomfortable. Meals very mediocre... and dinner overpriced for what was served. Cleaning staff exceptionally friendly. Owners - we've had better! Some soft background music could be nice in lapa...to create some much needed ambience"

"Very beautiful historic property with great views & location. On negative side -large airy village units only have warmish water not hot - village units outdoor showers had waist high weeds - supper menus are 5 course set menus that are repeated & are expensive for quality - restaurant staff lacking management & training - receptionists could do hostessing/oversight at meal times & spot checks on housekeeping/condition of units and gardens to support and train staff but do not - lack of comfy...

"We had a lovely stay at Rosedale, which is a running citrus farm. Keith was very welcoming and gave us lots of suggestions on what to do around. Delicious breakfast with eggs from the farm, fresh juice and homemade bread. Very close to Addo Elephant National Park"

"My family and I had a very comfortable 3-night stay at Happy Lands and visited Addo Elephant Park each day. On arrival, we were welcomed by the lovely host family to a very peaceful setting. The cottage patio looks onto beautiful gardens with mature trees. My husband wasn’t able to join us on this holiday, and we’ve already decided that we’d love to visit again to show him the farm. "
