"We booked a villa and ended up with the most magnificent view 24/7. The Villa was great and I could go on and on! The Staff was brilliant and special shout out to Maria and Angela who were warm, kind, and had great recommendations for restaurants in Plaka, Agios Nicholas, and Elounda. Everyone at the Elounda Gulf Villas made the experience special. The beach was great, the pool at the villa makes me want one at home. We would stay here again no question. All that said the view was the star. We highly recommend the EGV."

"We had a wonderfully relaxing 8 nights at Elounda Palm. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The Deluxe Infinity Pool Suite we had was lovely, with a spectacular view over the Aegean. The dinner buffet has a variety options to suit most tastes, but it is the Dacos restaurant where the food really shines. The bar is also a great place to relax, and the staff are always attentive and helpful. "

"The resort is truly five star and my stay included half board and was quite good. My ocean view suite was spacious and well appointed and maintained. The private sand beaches are quite nice there are four of them. The resort is very large with plenty of dining options which they provide a 30 euro discount. Had dinner at the Peruvian/Japenese restaurant and it was great. The service was very excellent overall, friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The lobby is dated and would truly benefit from a contemporary refresh, first impressions are important. There are very nice water sport offerings for an extra charge but reasonable. The gym is very nice there are a few, and you have quite a few pools to chose from. The location is paradise with sweeping views of the see and mountains. Upgrading your room is well worth it. Highly recommend for a relaxing time in Eastern Crete. A taxi into town Agios Nikolaus is 15 euros and 15 minutes. The town is very charming with plenty to do, shopping, dinning and bars. "

"Great hotel in the best location possible, the ocean is your pool. Staff are fantastic, understated, helpful, friendly. Room was a junior sea facing suite, loved it especially the balcony with glass railing. Breakfast had an extensive choice, everything was very tasty."

"This place is great. The hotel was perfectly kept. We did half board and there were plenty of selections at each meal and all was very good. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Beach access underground was perfect with bathroom for convenience. "

"We stayed at Candia Park for the last 3 nights of a delightful vacation in Crete where we sampled 4 different hotels. We had great expectations for Candia based on its appointment as a 4-star resort (and high cost) and the photos on Expedia. We were very disappointed and felt totally overcharged spending so much on a basic room with no amenities. The location is lovely and the grounds are nicely laid but the studio itself was outdated, extremely bare bones, and dark and musty with a patio facing another building. The bathroom had mildew that smelled so strong that we had to keep the windows open. Pictures on the website are totally misleading. Candia was also unwelcoming. At check in, the front desk politely sent us to our room with an emailed PDF to explain the grounds of the resort and what was available, leaving us confused about access to the beach. Very impersonal. We were given three very hard pillows for our three guests, nothing extra in any part of the room. No amenities at all. We did not eat at the resort. but it would have been impossible to cook in the little kitchen given the impractical utensils in the room (a ladle, a big fork and a bread knife). Such a contrast to the less expensive hotels we stayed at in Crete which, even when simple, were warm and had so many thoughtful personal touches. "
