Traditional Loch Side Croft Cottage And Garden With Contemporary Extension

Please note we book Saturday to Saturday only. Your arrival and departure day must be a Saturday.

Dalilea Croft is situated on the north west side of Loch Shiel, in an area known as Moidart in the Western Highlands of Scotland. Fort William is 30 miles to the east and the cottage is approximately seven miles from Acharacle, which has a good general store, post office, tea room, bakery and pub. There are several good restaurants in the area. Boat hire on Loch Shiel is available and fishing can generally be arranged. The traditional single storey cottage is integrated with an architect designed extension with glass end-elevation, providing spectacular loch views and surrounded by its own established garden which is well fenced and bounded to the south by a small burn. The garden is completely secluded, no other house is visible, with Ben Resipol to the south and Loch Shiel, a short walk across a field, to the west. When the water in the fresh water loch is low, a sandy beach makes an ideal picnic spot.

Outstanding property and location
Peaceful and quiet location for winding down and relaxing in a beautiful clean, cosy, comfortable cottage. We we're blessed with sunshine for the week to enjoy the stunning view's from the croft and plenty to do in the Moidart area, boat hire available at the farm just down the bottom of the road to enjoy a day on Loch Shiel this is a much loved and looked after property by the owner, we wouldn't hesitate to come back again, thanks for a wonderful holiday 😊❤️

Wonderful extended Croft in Stunning Area
Utterly peaceful stay in perfect surroundings. Abundance of wildlife, white sand beaches, mountain ranges and lochs very close by. The Croft has everything needed for a comfortable stay - the summer room being the icing on the cake. Intermittent Wi-Fi not a problem for me… the blissful escape I expect from the western highlands! Will definitely revisit.

Beautiful Cottage and garden
We have stayed in the area many times but first time stay for the Croft, highly recommended and beautiful very secure garden for our 2 dogs, house very well equipped, the only gripe of it is a gripe is a mirror near a socket would be good for us ladies who need to dry our hair, and maybe a wardrobe to store clothes if there is more than 2 adults but there is a rail with hangers on and drawers so we got by. We would definitely return.

Very nice property. Directions could have included some mileage from landmarks. Looking for a road sign at dusk on a long road was more challenging than need be. Transporting all linens from the U.S. was something of a chore.

Perfect hideaway
Beautifully located and very well equipped and is obviously a much loved family holiday home. Due to drainage work and disruption to parts of the garden, Steven very generously gave us a discount. There are good local facilities within a few miles so a car is an absolute must. Stunning scenery was only slightly marred by some very wet weather and all the local people we met were friendly and very helpful. A great week!

Perfect stay.
Dalilea Cottage provided us with a peaceful haven and ideal location to explore Moidart and Ardnamurchan. Size of the cottage was perfect for our family of four, plus dog, and actually larger than we anticipated. We were blessed with 7 days of sunshine, so didn’t have to entertain wet weather activities, which made the week easy with plenty of stunning beaches to visit, but next time will bring wetsuits. Highly recommend hiring a boat for the day from the local farm and exploring Loch Shiel. Wonderful and hope to return one day..

Amazing location
This is the perfect property for wildlife lovers - you can see sea eagles, golden eagles, bats and deer all from the cottage and garden! The kitchen and bathrooms are lovely and there is plenty space for a family and a dog ! The garden is all enclosed. It is easy to walk to the edge of the loch from the garden and there are lots of other lovely local walks to explore. There is a shop and cafe in the nearby village and a castle close by as well as some lovely beaches. The local area and scenery is simply amazing !
