They are doing a big renovation of the original structures, so all the rooms I have known for the past year and a half are closed. The newly renovated rooms are very modern, with new bathroom fixtures, great hot water heaters. But the restaurant in not accessible to me as I can't climb stairs. Room service is fast and friendly, they make my potato chips (now called French fries) as brown and crunchy as I want them. Their old Fashioned cocktail is still one of the best I have ever had, on 3 continents, so I recommend it. Their fried rice is actually fried rice, not rice cooked with a Maggi cube so it looks brown but is not really fried at all, which is the stuff you will find in a lot of restaurants in Ghana. I had chicken fried rice the other night and it had egg, finely chopped carrots and scallions, and it was properly fried so that the rice began to caramelize. Just delicious, and a generous portion for a reasonable price. Delivered piping hot and quickly.
The staff are all very kind and helpful. Attentive. This hotel has the qualities of a 5 star fancy "downtown" big name place, but it is tucked away on a dirt road in Adjiringanor. I have been staying here for a volunteer program I was doing at a Special Ed school a few blocks away. My project has ended, and I do not know when I will find reason to visit this area again, as I live in Cape Coast. I will miss being here every week! I highly recommend you treat yourself to a Golden Crystal Experience too.
