While the entrance is tucked into a little alley that seems creepy at night, it is actually quite a safe area (in my experience, and I am a 34 yr woman who did a small bit of walking nearby at night). They have 24 hr security that will gladly run and get a cab for you (only use orange taxis) and help you negotiate a fair price. There is also a man named Hamidou who can help you get whatever you need during your stay, whether that is finding the best place to eat local (Allocodromo in Cocody) or other African food (Nigerian in Treciaville) or even finding someone to help you with your emergency manicure because you didn't have time to fix that before you came. He also sells beautiful woodwork and can get tailored Ivoirian traditional dress for you.
Anyways, the hotel itself is nice and clean. Everyone in the restaurant and bar area are super professional and polite and the restaurant is open to helping you with any dietary restrictions you may have. The lobby is comfortable with plenty of seating and a TV available. The internet in the lobby is decent, at least enough to check email. Don't expect that in your room, though.
The reception staff is very friendly and helpful. I did have some trouble with one of my bookings (Otels.com). Because the payment didn't go through, I was hounded by the manager for 3 days, even after I provided a phone#. I ended up having to call myself to resolve.
Overall a comfortable stay, excellent food, and friendly service. Can't wait to go back!
