Very friendly greeting when I arrived, along with some good pointers for things to do in the area.
The room was comfortably spacious, and I really appreciated the little folding chair and table, which made for a decent laptop work area.
I chose a room with a shared bathroom - I thought this would be much more inconvenient than it was. The bathroom was only shared with one other room, and I never had to wait for it (and I'm not aware of the other room waiting on me, either); there was also another bathroom up the stairs if needed.
The mini fridge was very convenient, and a decent tea setup.
The biggest negative was the bed; the springs created uncomfortable lumps in the bed. Mostly I was able to get comfortable, but there were a couple of times I woke up in pain.
Other smaller negatives: I wish there had been more places to hang clothes, rather than one peg I had to crawl across the bed to reach. It was also about a 20 minute walk to get to the main area of town, and longer to get to the beach or coast - still perfectly doable, even in wetter weather, but I wish there had been some more things to do closer to the place. I could also hear doors slamming and people talking; other guests were generally quiet and kept pretty conservative hours while I was there, but I could see it being a nuisance with louder guests.
Overall though, especially considering the price I paid, I was very happy with my stay and will return if I'm ever back in Aberdeen.
