Junction at Aberbeeg of railways and valleys, 1990. View NW from the A463 road up the Ebbw Valley, towards Ebbw Vale (to the left, Ebbw Fawr), with the railway still open - just about) and to the right up the Ebbw Fach valley to Abertillery, Nantyglo and Brynmawr. In this 1990 view it appears that there are still station platforms for both routes, but the station had been closed for passengers on 30/4/62 and for goods from 28/11/66. The line up the Ebbw Fawr remained open to serve Ebbw Vale Steelworks and a passenger service to Ebbw Vale - but not stopping here - was restored on 6/2/08. The line to the right to Nantyglo and Brynmawr was closed from 30/4/62, although goods to Abertillery continued until 7/4/69, but it still seems to exist here in 1990.
