This is a wonderful place to stay if going to the Harry Potter Studio tour. There are areas which could do with a bit of interior design magic. We did enjoy our stay and we would book this again.

Parking can be a challenge. The hotel pool is opening for swimming lessons and as a result the car park tends to get full with parked cars of people using the pool.

You picture a grand house when you come here from the main photo but you do not stay in that house. Arriving it was closer to a home for the elderly - long windowed corridors . It was perfectly functional for what we needed through. The room was small, the bathroom was modern however the mixer in the shower was invented for style and not function. Bed was small. Amazing breakfast and staff were nice and friendly. The girl on the front desk I think needs a break - she was there late into the night and early in the morning and she didn’t really acknowledge you or smile. It would have been nice to have time to explore the garden. The place has go much potential.

The first room we were in was so small you couldn’t get down the side of the bed. We complained and got moved to the mansion house which was lovely. There was however a blocked drain in the shower and a ripped towel

When I had lunch at the Bar , I had to sit at a sofa as the 3 tables in that area were all dirty and had not been cleared since Breakfast , there was cutlery on the floor next to one of these tables .. Sloppy things like this is a management situation , not checking work quality . A 4 star hotel should be excellent , not so so .

Very quiet secluded spot and decent price, however my 'superior room' didnt live upto its name. The A/C which does the heating didnt work at all, luckily the room is supplied with an electric fan heater and in the morning after my shower i noticed there was no hairdryer. (Room 55) Oh and finally, the room spec states LCD TV. Its L and D are correct but there LED Tvs. Old ones too!! Good breakfast though.
