As a traveler with some experience of this quality of hotel I was surprised by the unfriendliness of staff. All business, no warmth, everything felt soulless.
Did I want my towels changed in the morning? No explanation of sustainability practices, just questions. No bottled water in the room. Clean towels that had seen their day. Nothing to make a guest feel at home. Bare essentials. I doubled the duvet for warmth.
Breakfast was average. Grateful to see fresh fruit. Where was the toaster? Didn’t have one!
In 2024 this felt more like a hostel than an art hotel. Maybe Aachen has unique standards. This is a hotel I do not recommend if you are seeking convenience to train station, service staff warmth and the sense that you, not your payments, are top priority.
