Clare and central to hiking trails, castles, megalithic sites, farms, lakes, wildlife, horse riding, fishing, water sports and traditional music. The cottage is "Off the beaten track" and is a fantastic hub to all the attractions, with a notably relaxing homely feel when you return after a long day.

Solo travellers have the reassurance of knowing that they are not entirely alone as the main house beside the cottage is usually occupied.

** Please take note of the rustic and securely fixed wooden ladder (as seen in the photos) to the mezzanine bedroom. The bed is a comfortable double mattress on the floor as the height of a full bed would be too near the ceiling and there is a pull out sofa bed in the main room for those who wish to stay on ground level near bathroom.

Bathroom and kitchen are just off the main room.
The kitchen shelves store tea, coffee, and the usual condiments.
Seasonal Organic vegetables can be bought along with unpasteurised, milk, cheese and yogurt from the nearby neighbour's Organic farm.

Fiber optic broadband Internet is installed in the cottage at no extra cost.

Please read the Amenities section carefully, as not having a TV can disappoint.

There is an honesty box by the machines for your contribution.
Iron and board are in clothes closet with laundry basket.

During the winter season this cottage is available for long-term rent at reduced price.

Lovely and charming little cottage
Love it ! Very quiet, clean and peaceful place in the middle of the country, beautifully decorated. Everything we needed was there. The flowers in front of the cottage are beautiful and it was very pleasant to eat outside when the weather allowed it! The host, Stephanie is very nice, kind and caring. She helped us with everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay there.

We had a lovely stay in this beautifully appointed cottage (right down to an excellent set of knives for cooking!) From the lovely interior to the stunning gardens this was a delightful stop. Suzanne is an excellent host with a great knowledge of the area. If you are looking for a romantic getaway or just a place to unwind and relax--this is it!

A Little Gem
This little cottage is within easy distance for day trips to many towns and attractions. It retains an old world charm while providing everything needed for a comfortable stay. As an older couple, we were unable to make use of the bedroom area but we used the bed settee, leaving it made up throughout our stay, and still had plenty of room. The single track roads in the area take a bit of getting used to but are easily negotiated with a bit of patience. Stephanie, the host, was very friendly and informative about the area, offering suggestions of suitable places to visit. Thank you for helping make our visit so enjoyable!

Was like a delightful step back in time. Peaceful! Loved the countryside. Local cows became friends. Learned about using turf in stove. We loved it! Very easy to start! Stephanie was wonderful and made some reservations for us as well as providing turf for our first night when stores were closed. Lovely village!

Enchanting Cottage Tucked into Clare Countryside
My Husband and I stayed at Druid Cottage for three weeks in October and could not have hoped for a more charming, relaxing hideaway. The space is very cozy, with many thoughtful details. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials, so it’s very easy to prepare meals making use of the fresh organic vegetables from the farm stand across the quiet country road or the fresh dairy and eggs (all from Glendree Organic Farm) just a 3 minute walk from the cottage. There is a sweet cat, Smudge who lives on the property. She is very cute and friendly, and we enjoyed visiting with her and the host, Stephanie. The location is great, as it is out of the way enough to be peaceful, but only a 10 minute drive to Tulla, where you can pick up grocery essentials, fuel for the wood stove, or grab a pint. If you are looking for more of a city vibe, Ennis is just 30 minutes away and Galway is just over an hour. Due to the location, you will definitely want to have a vehicle. Stephanie provides detailed info on walking trails and fun historical sights all around county Clare. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We can’t wait to come back and visit Stephanie and Smudge soon!

The perfect place for a quiet week off the grid
This small cottage is like a cozy refuge to get away from every-day life. It is so quiet out there, you almost won't believe it. And yet (if you have a car) you can get into town in 10 minutes. Being quite central in Claire County, it also can be a good starting point for day-trips around the country.

Druid Cottage
This little cottage FAR exceeded my expectations. It was an absolutely perfect location, and made a great ‘home base’ from which to explore the area and take in the traditional music for which East Clare is so well known. Steph was a welcoming and responsive host, and I hope to come back; it truly feels like home!

The Druid Cottage was and excellent choice for exploring Clare and Galway, although somewhat cool outside, the cottage was always plenty warm with the peat fueled stove.

Cozy, peaceful, rejuvenating haven after busy tourist days!
Druid Cottage is a peaceful haven! At first we were concerned that it seemed far from everything but actually it’s just far enough!!! Tucked against a hill in farm country...a short walk up the hill and there are gorgeous views of the hills and valley and even the lake. We loved that Stephanie recycles and composts and there’s an organic farm stand at the end of her drive. Stephanie went out her way to make us feel welcome and gave great advise on things to do and see, places to shop and eat. We were so sorry to leave and hope someday to return! Thank you Stephanie!

Beautiful, peaceful rural setting. Clean and lovely. Flowers and green invite you in.
Our relationship with Steph started way back in November when we first made the reservation. When I relized she also knits beautiful shawls, I had to have one for My wife. Beth now has two, and our daughter in-law has one. Steph was there to greet us to the property and had already booked a table for us at a local pub since she knew we had a long day of travel. Beth and I both feel like this could be our second home, Steph made us feel part of her family. With two lovely, small towns close by and an organic produce and egg stand across the lane, we were able to fix our meals with no hassle. As we had rented a car (SMALL Car is important) we could come and go at will to the many beautiful places all around. We’re planning our next stay already and look forward fondly to staying at the cottage, visiting the local horses and listening to the birds sing us to sleep through the open window of the loft.

This cottage is wonderfully quiet and well appointed for a self-catered stay in East Clare!
My wife and I stayed in this cottage for 9 days, spanning the period over Christmas and New Year's Day. Being a traditional musician, I can't think of a place I'd rather be than nestled between Feakle and Tulla, with easy access to Ennis, Galway, and Limerick with a car! (Note: This cottage is on a one lane, residential road - if you're renting a car, you'll be more comfortable with a small one!) Stephanie, being an artist, also decorated the cottage for us, giving us the welcoming feeling of the season even so far from home. She welcomed us with fresh scones when we arrived, and had the stove fired up with the cottage at a comfortable temperature. More than any other trip to Ireland, we chose to do the vast majority of our own meal preparation. Both preparing dishes that were being taken to a friend's house on Christmas Eve and Christmas, and just our normal daily routine. The kitchen turned out to be just what we needed, with all of the pots, pans, silverware, glassware, and serving platters provided, as well as a modest pantry which met our needs. And with a little organic farm stand literally 50 feet from the front door, we had everything we needed! Unlike many self-catering locations we've used in Ireland before, Stephanie also provided us with both peat and wood fuel to keep the cottage cozy during what turned out to be a fairly stormy week! And if you're unfamiliar with using a stove for heat, Stephanie will even show you the ropes. The bed was workable for two people, although, it is in a loft accessed by a solid wood ladder. I would be cautious if you're uncomfortable climbing a ladder up and down to go to bed. We didn't have any problems with it. And the shower worked just great for two people, especially if you afford time between showers, or can get in and out quickly. We loved our stay, and it felt like we were saying goodbye to good friends when we left Stephanie and Rob behind to travel back to the U.S. We will definitely stay here again!

Amazing irish country experience!
It was so nice to have a 'home base' during our adventures in Ireland. The cottage was located centrally to the major sites we wanted to see including Aran Islands & the Cliffs, Cashel, Holy Island and Limerick. It was a cozy country setting which inspired wonderful off the grid relaxation.

We loved the cottage! Stephanie was so helpful with emails and directions, she made sure to have someone available to us if we needed anything. (Thank you Fiona!) The cottage is close enough to different sites without being surrounded by the noise of the city. We would love to stay here again when we make our way back to Ireland. Thanks again Stephanie!

Great stay at the "Druid Cottage"
We stayed here for 6 days and it was wonderful. The cottage is super cozy and has everything you need. The communication with Steph was perfect all the time and she was always helpful. The cottage is a bit far off in the nature so you'd definitely want to have a car for your stay. It's a 1- 1 and 1/2 hour drive to different touristic places like Cliffs of Mother, Spanish Point etc but I would recommend everyone to visit the cliffs of Kilkee, because it is much more beautiful and not that crowded. All in all a wonderful cottage with a wonderful host. Thank you Steph 😊
