"Old school and old building. Excellent location and views, spacious rooms, fine service. The amenities were ok. The main issue is smoking. A non smoking hotel that hands out matches in every room, what do you think it’s going to happen? If you’re a smoker it’s for you. For me it was always an exercise in opening the windows to get the smell out of the room and close them quickly when the suicidal monkey next door smoked in their balcony"

"This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at.The staff are outstanding. Polite, helpful with excellent English but prepared to humour my attempts at speaking French. The room was wonderful with an incredible view across the lake to the mountains. The breakfast buffet was amazing, especially the eggs Benedict cooked to order. The spa was good too. We arrived early and so waited for our room in the lounge. Staff provided tea and the wait was pleasant. However, at the changing of shifts it seems the next shift didn’t know we had arrived and were waiting so I reduced a star for that. "We had an amazing time at this hotel! The rooms are impeccable, the spa, the pool and the general atmosphere is very relaxing and very welcoming! We liked the service, especially at the bar and the buffet style restaurant La Veranda.The only slight disappointment was the fact that we were not able in 5 days of our stay to book a dinner reservation at Les Fresques. The lady at reception was not helpful at all. Overall, we had a great time at this resort and this little inconvenience did not...
