"From turning up the driveway to the moment we left we felt like special guests who were staying in an historic English castle. The key aspect of this stay was that you are staying in a castle steeped in English and Scottish history. It has been adapted in keep with historic guidance to make it a 4 star hotel and so there are interesting rooms, nooks and cranny’s which make it a unique and exciting place to spend some special time with family. All the staff are very tentative and eager to please. The rooms open to all guests are elegant and there was ample seating and the rooms were all lovely and warm. Our room, The Cadwallader Room, was majestic and beautiful. Access was via the original spiral staircase which may be a challenge to anyone with mobility issues. This would also be the case for a few of the other rooms so check in advance if you have concerns. Beautiful grounds with peacocks and lovely paths to stroll around. Ample parking. We had breakfast which was table service. Lovey full English and eggs Benedict. Other people had continental breakfast’s which also looked delicious. Great location to explore Hadrians Wall and other local historic sights. They give you a free Langley castle history tour each morning at 1015am which I would recommend as it’s nice and light hearted giving you a glimpse into the history the castle has witnessed up to the current day. I would recommend this stay to anyone who wants to have a relaxed time where you are spolit. "

Our room was immaculate and impressively decorated. The bed was very comfortable, but the stand out feature was the tin bath - a real showstopper. "We had a lovely stay. Nice views over the fields. Kitchen well equipped with tea, coffee, fresh milk and biscuits. Luxury feel. Enjoyed the hot tub which was warm and ready for us arriving. Would recommend this place and I think we’ll be back."
