Thought £25 for breakfast was ridiculous considering I only had a coffee and scrambled eggs on both days and I asked for a child’s portion as don’t eat much in the morning. I normally book B&B, but must have missed it on Hotels.com this time. Maybe a paid menu for breakfast would tempt me back, but not the way it stands unfortunately."

We were a bit worried when arriving with our 2 year old that it might not be child friendly as it was clearly a beautiful building, but the staff were absolutely lovely with her and very happy to provide what we needed. We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommended."

"The lodge is set in a very scenic setting next to Lock Aboyne and woodlands which you can walk around. The property itself owned and run by a lovely couple who pretty much seem to do everything themselves. The decor is dated and old fashioned but if you like golf this is a great option as the course setting is fabulous …it’s a 9 hole set over a huge expanse with inclines and some difficult hazards. We ate at the lodge one night and boat inn restaurant the next which is a 10 min drive down the road …breakfast was simple but freshly made …"
