"The Glenburn Hotel has outstanding views from the hotel restaurant / lobby area, so I enjoyed it as much as I could since my room looked on to the roof, blocking the view. A little misguided from the outstanding photos on Expedia. The staff were very accommodating and welcoming and I really enjoyed my walks in the lovely area of Rothesay. This coastal town allows you to feel disconnected, without having to be too far from the mainland. I would definitely suggest taking a taxi from the ferry...

Check in was 3pm (quite a late check-in time as it is) As we were going to a function at 5 and had to leave the hotel at 4.30 I called ahead to ask if it was possible to get in to the room a little earlier. I was told abruptly and with an incredulous voice that that was impossible as they would be cleaning rooms right up to 3pm. OK, but not even to be given a simple "see what we can do" or a polite apology was a slap in the face before we had even arrived. On...
