"Great location on the lake with friendly staff. However, I wouldn’t say it was the best value for money. The rooms are overdue for a facelift, and could do with more sound proofing. Additionally whilst you are lakefront there is a public path right outside your window so if you are on the ground floor you end up with the privacy curtain closed so you don’t take advantage of the wonderful view. Parking is also a little bit of a lottery when the hotel and/or restaurant is full. Grotto is also...

"A brilliant place to stay in the charming little town of Turangi. Very peaceful and calm, with plenty of facilities. Lovely and well-equipped kitchen with a large dining area and plenty of space to relax including a great TV room. Plenty of toilets and showers too. Rooms are nice and beds comfy. The place is very clean and all the staff are lovely. The owner is a great guy and really nice to chat to. This place is a haven and easily the best place I have stayed in New Zealand.
