"The Thaxter Hotel was good (not great). We like the easy access and check-in/check-out process. The rooms are clean and quirky, bathrooms are nice but the bed was pretty uncomfortable. We picked this hotel based on its proximity to The Library restaurant which was literally right around the corner. No views from the rooms but we only stayed one night so it was no big deal. It is an easy walk to just about anything in Portsmouth (a great little town). I don't know that I would rush back to...

"The area around the Inn is amazing. Parking limited only 5 spaces. The room looked run down, dirty toilet brush, badly stained paint around the bathroom door framing, heater didn't work. For $650 a night with no breakfast included, beware this is not a B and B breakfast costs extra so it's a BWB bed without breakfast. No vanity products or tea/coffee in the room. Would not recommend staying here, poor value for money. "
