"Let me start out by saying getting to the Hotel is not the easiest. The hotel will send you a message telling you to call when you get to the area and they will guide you in a GPS will not navigate inside the city. What the message should include is "Via Vittorio Veneto, 44, 70022 Altamura BA, Italy" this is the entrance. The hotel itself is gorgeous, the staff is friendly and helpful. "The hotel is in a great location to explore Matera, and some of the rooms are in actual caves (it's a great experience for a night or two) without windows. These rooms are very nice and have a good spacious shower. Some rooms are not in the check-in building and so a walk down some stone steps may be required. "

"Bright and modern hotel with excellent gated parking and helpful, friendly staff. Breakfast is also good - we loved the yogurts and selection of seeds / fried fruits etc. Its 45 minutes walk from the centre of Matera (there are also local buses, or the hotel can call you a taxi) - It’s an easy and well lit walk, just follow Google maps. We were happy to walk and not be concerned about parking (which is a real headache in the centre of Matera)"

"The cleanliness was on point and the cleaning lady was really nice. Reception was alright, but I had to wait 2 days for someone to come and fix the shower cable, after I had told them 3 times. Even after the shower cable was ‘fixed’ though, there was still water coming out of the shower plate, which developed a small flooding each time I would shower. That, I had told them too. They did offer another room, but I was staying just for 3 nights, so I declined. Okay, in the overall."

"This is an EXCELLENT place to stay and enjoy Matera. The rooms are big, very comfortable, modern, and convenient to walk around beautiful Matera. The bathroom is big and the toilet is in a separate room than the shower and the lavatory. The staff is very helpful and very cordial. They helped us with every request we had. "Beautiful hotel. Doing some restoration now but not a burden in any way. Room was spacious and clean. The property is actually spread out over several nearby structures, which adds to the overall appeal. Breakfast was in a modified cave and was a very good buffet. Service overall excellent, especially Mikhail, Katarina, and the breakfast staff."
