"Very clean and safe hotel. Spacious room. Excellent shower. Booked as a solo traveller and for some reason received a (small/narrow) single person duvet on a double bed. Made sleeping very uncomfortable and cold. Hotel a la carte restaurant was closed, only a buffet available.... Was very poor quality food and also not cheap. "

"Hotel provided a pass for the tram into the downtown for our entire stay. This was great and made getting around very convenient. It was, I think, one stop to the train station and another stop to the downtown. Rooms clean, comfortable and larger than tropical European hotel rooms. Breakfast was good."

"Eigentlich bin ich immer mehr als zufrieden im Hotel Schieferhof. Wann immer ich in der Nähe bin, übernachte ich hier. Aber dieses Mal war an Nachtruhe nicht zu denken. Die Zimmer zur Straße raus sind einfach zu laut. Die Fenster schlucken zwar den Schall, aber dann ist es zu stickig im Zimmer (wenn man - wie ich - Frischluftfanatiker ist. "The staff was very accommodating. The first room we were in smelled so strongly of cigars and cigarettes that we asked to have a different room. The second room we got was great! Smelled much better. The beds were comfortable and when I couldn’t figure out the heating system the same staff member came to are room and showed us how the heater worked.
