"Reception was kind and welcoming, but the room (Dolcetto) was very odd. Tried to find it charming, a long cave, but it's strange. The foot of the bed is right upon the curtains on the opposite wall. Sleep was the big problem. The room sits over the socializing courtyard and restaurant. The mild thump of music continued into the evening, followed after closing by voices laughing in the courtyard below the room. The drapes are too thin to block out the light in the courtyard. "This was our third stay in Albergo San Lorenzo on our annual one month visit to Italy. On the way back home we like to visit the truffle fair in Alba on our way to Malpensa Airport in Milan. For the price this is an excellent location as they are one of the few hotels center town within walking distance to the fair that have parking. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and the breakfast is quite nice. "
