"I was very pleased with the accommodation and politeness of staff. Had an issue with payment because the card I booked with was out of date, so manager had to contact Expedia to clear payment with the new replacement card. I was out of internet contact, so the mix-up was a bit daunting. Entirely my fault though, and staff were very kind. "

"The check in process was a little strange, one person on the phone quite a bit in a room off to the side, who knew you were supposed to go in there? He had two other people in there so we had to wait about 15 minutes. Then we went in and it was all of 30 seconds, here's your key, go up the stairs, see you later! No information given. One day we asked about the buses and how to take them (we are from Canada) and the girl at the desk said she had no idea, she never took the bus. End of that...

On the waterfront and with fantastic dining options it was the perfect place to spend a pre Christmas getaway and mooch around the classy little town of St Mawes, which always seems to be bustling without being overcrowded even at peak times of the year. "Just an overnight stay between the train and the morning ferry but I’m glad I did. Very friendly and personal, early breakfast when they didn’t have to. And very good breakfast, set me up for the rough crossing. (Don’t go on an empty stomach) Quiet, comfortable bed, good shower, clean, couldn’t ask for more. 15 minutes walk to ferry, 5 from station. I hope places like this continue, it will be a sad world when we only have a premier inn as an option."
