"We booked and pre-paid three rooms for a business trip. When we arrived, we were told that they did not have a reservation for us and when we showed the email confirmation, we were told that they did not work with Hotels.com and that they did not have the rooms available. We were able to resolve the situation eventually, but not a pleasant nor welcoming experience!"

"Lovely old Victorian property in a fantastic location. Admittedly condition a little tired but that’s part of its charm. We had a very warm welcome and pleasantly surprised when we had our room upgraded to a sea view free of charge. The room and bed were very clean and comfy and it had a nice view towards lynmouth. Very convenient location for the shops, eateries and walks. Not much in the way of car parking, but found it very easy to park in a pay and display nearby, then get a 4 day voucher for £15. Unfortunately no bar or food in the hotel, but you can get a very nice breakfast in the greenhouse restaurant across the street. Plenty of places nearby to eat and drink. Had a very pleasant long weekend, didn’t need to use the car at all. Great value for money stay."

"The hotel is in a great position, less than five minutes walk from Lynton centre, has fantastic sea views and also looks down over Lynmouth. It is also right beside the funicular railway and even has its own entrance by the top. Our room wasn't the biggest but it was comfortable and being twin aspect had great views. There is an honesty bar and interesting public areas. There was even an EV charging point in the hotel car park. All in all a very pleasant stay."

"I really did like it at this hotel. The secret gardens were beautiful, breakfast was brilliant, bed was comfy. There was a couple of repairs which should really be seen to like the net in the bathroom had a long tear down the middle and had mould on it, also the wardrobe door wasn’t in its runner. However this didn’t affect my stay and I would most definitely stay here again. "
