"Perfect little overnight stop whilst my fiancée and I were journeying from London to the Lakes. Our double room was very clean, well kept and absolutely silent despite the Christmas do that was taking place in the bar downstairs, which made for a peaceful stay. The buffet breakfast, which included a full English spread and plenty of pastries, yogurts and fruits, was plentiful and all very tasty. "Clean room , spotless sheets. Bathroom a little tired but ok. Soap could be repositioned nearer sink. Carpets just about ok. Breakfast better than expected but avoid "restaurant" in the evening and use McD next door."

Room on first inspection was nice but dust in places, window would shut properly (hubby had to use curtain tie back to stop it opening). Bathroom had a seweage smell to it so had to keep door shut. Food is always decent albeit pub style grub, restaurant can get busy so worth booking a table, very easy to do on the app. Staff always polite and extremely helpful. Rooms are a good size and always clean and well presented. Bar area is usually pretty busy every evening but has a great atmosphere. "
