So, we experienced some of the service issues that one can naturally expect when a new management is arriving. Nevertheless the staff was excellent and predisposed to overcome all those difficulties. What I liked is that it was very quiet outside our room, so having the windows open on a hot night wasn't a problem. And in contrast to many hotels, while they had a duvet on the bed, they also provided a very light blanket, so it wasn't an all or nothing covering situation. And they had extra pillows. It is unpretentious but offers a lovely restaurant with terrace seating suitable from early morning to late post concert hours. My room was spotlessly clean with lovely views of the town and Alpine valley landscape. The bedding is superior - I had the best night’s sleep after the evening’s recital in historic Church Saanen.
