"this was our second lenghty stay at the Majoren. August 2023 was the first. As was the case last August, we again enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It's a nice boutique hotel very close to the train station and central square as well as the university. The station (trains and buses) is a 10 minute walk away. "Easily one of the worst hotel experiences, having used hotels in over 40 nations. Walk in, the "shower" is a slight dent in the floor with a partial divider pushing into your leg if you use the toilet. The door howls like a wounded animal when you try to open it or close it. Rotted out door hinge. The building has paint coming off it, the entryway lights are physically filthy, covered with cobwebs and a strange yellow stain. 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper in toilet and nothing else. Though...

"Helpful, friendly and accommodating staff, fantastic breakfast options all very tasty and well presented inc plenty of time to relax and enjoy the food, never feeling rushed nor was it over crowded. The beds are really comfortable my room was basic but nice and fitted in with the decor and age of the hotel. Bathroom had modern facilities and very clean! No satellite TV it often lost connection, maybe due to WiFi connection so it meant limited access to English channels other than Sky news....

"Was very easy to find off the main road, yet was out of the way so was nice and quiet. Room was compact but had everything I need. Would be nice to go back in the summer, this was just a business overnight stop. Tv only had one channel which was a bit disappointing especially as the listing showed lots, but didn't matter too much Parking for a large van was easy"
