"We loved our stay at hotel dei Capitani, would highly recommend. Montalcino is famous for truffles, wild boar, wine, and beautiful views, especially from this hotel. It is on top of a mountain and in the country so you can expect to see bugs in your room like spiders, mosquitos, stink bugs, but they are mostly all harmless and more of a nuisance than anything. Dogs barking next door all night, poor WiFi connection in the end room where I was. Two single beds put together meant a ridge down the middle! Expensive breakfast (15€) for what it was."

"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. The staff were really friendly and relaxed, the room in the main building was fine, the grounds are magnificent, the swimming pool massive and the restaurant superb. Only two small gripes. There was a terrble smell in the middle of one night and some construction traffic early in the morning at a site well behind the hotel was a bit noisy but I would still recommend this hotel. It's also in a great position for getting to Siena, Massa and the rest...
