Staff on reception during check-in were not very friendly and charged me for the room, even though I had paid by using my saved vouchers. This was rectified later in the day by the manager. "Such a lovely, family run hotel. So much more personal and quiet compared to the bigger, 4 & 5 star hotels. We were really glad we picked the Caravel. Huge room (apartment), great food and pool and just over the road from the sea. The owners were incredibly friendly, sorted out some last minute euros for us and booked probably the best taxi service we’ve ever had! All the good reviews were spot on. "

"The property has 2 buildings, one closer to the village centre and another one with direct access to the beach. We were lucky to be by the Gaia beach just opposite ours, which has a nicer swimming pool and a bar/restaurant, which is very good and part of the hotel management. The main restaurant is in the building close to the village centre and they do offer a very brief transfer between the two with an electric car at breakfast and dinner time. "Good hotel and pool, beach across the road. If you wish to get a sunbed at the beach, go early, as there aren’t many beds. Friday food is the best of the week. Cocktails after 6pm are really good. On the downside, the hotel is a bit dated, but it is reflected in the price. No ac in the public rooms."
