"Overall stay was good. However, the bathrooms are visible inside the room. Not recommended for a family to stay inside the room. I kindly suggest to put up curtains or a blurred glass to have privacy. Also, the balconies are connected to each room with a sliding door which is kind of unnecessary i feel. "Excellent location however property in great need of updating / renovation. Basics such as mosquito nets, had holes in so didn't work, and had a little trouble with communication (being English) which didn't experience at other more rural places. Breakfast very very basic and not great for children (only tea or coffee provided etc.)"

"I left my heart in Talalla Retreat. Incredible staff who were so welcoming and hard working, the Retreat itself is stunning. I had an upstairs bedroom so was able to fully enjoy the surroundings. The food was incredible. I felt super safe. I didn’t want to leave. A must visit - and please do as the Sri Lankan people need visitors right now. "

"This is the 3rd time that I am returning to Halcyon. It really is the best hotel on Mawella beach (and maybe even in whole of southern province :) The hotel is beautifully and tastefully decorated, the staff are super friendly, including owner Xander, it's absolutely right on the beach , the food is great. What more to say, it's a little peace of heaven :) "

"The property is wonderful with a great facilities!!! The villa was very clean, sofa bed was ready and the bed was very comfortable. AC or fan is in the rooms which is I founded very convenient. Beach towels are provided, so you don’t have to take from home. Bathroom is very clean, plenty of branded toiletries (smells amazing).
