"A very clean, tidy and comfortable 3 star hotel that I surmise is family owned and possibly operated. I stayed out of season in April and it was very quiet. "Spent 2 nights here as part of a southern Italy tour. Public areas of the hotel are smart and welcoming. The reception and breakfast staff were all lovely and helpful. Breakfast was good continental fare. My room was slightly disappointing. It felt a little unloved, with old fashioned furniture and some shabby fittings. My single, spring-frame bed and soft mattress felt like the one i used to have in the 1960s!! Finally, not sure why but for first 24 hours i had only cold water. Then just after...

"The front desk was on the ground floor, as usual in Europe. The lift that I never used was a little bit up the stairs. To get to the 1st floor, I had to climb another circular flight of stairs. The room I had was big enough for myself, with the bathroom having plenty of space. Overall, the fixtures were aged, worn, but clean. The bed was very comfortable, the pillow being a little shallow. I asked for a second pillow and promptly got it. My room overlooked the ferry terminal across the street....
