"Rooms are not designed well. Especially the bathrooms. Shower head is placed at the door. Tub was under construction. Sink was behind the door. No thinking involved in planning the layout. Hot drinks at breakfast labeled only in burmese. Breakfast marginal. Spa adequate but no English spoken so hard to communicate needs. "

"We stay in Royal Hintar every year when we go to Mawlamyine. The staff is very courteous and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and provide all the amenities you need. The breakfast buffet is great with big variety of items to choose from. We only had good experiences in this hotel."

[Unprofessional Reception Staff] Upon arriving at the hotel, we were told by reception that they could only find 1 of 2 bookings we made when we clearly showed proof of booking for 2 rooms at 2 nights each. After a prolonged period of time, arguments and rude attitude from reception, they confirmed it was their error and they had the available rooms for us. It’s very unfortunate such a nice hotel had such a rude reception as the front face of customer service. It was not pleasant to have them...

""great" hotel! highly recommended to waste your money! di not book it online - if something will happen with your trip not because of you, they will just defalcate your money. no wait any refund (both from hotel or orbitz). generally, don't book any hotels in Myanmar through online booking services - almost for sure you will loose your money (i lost money twice in a row (by 2 different reasons), using orbitz). good luck! "Plus points- quiet location 6km from the city centre, helpful reception staff and a small, but good restaurant. Negative points- 6km from the city centre. No bar, no swimming pool. Rooms only cleaned every other day."
