"This is in an idyllic forest setting. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fun and tasty. There is parking outside and across the road. WiFi is great. It's the opposite of quiet but the noises are rainforest sounds and cattle, which is restful in a different way. The rooms are pretty basic and a little tired but have everything you need. It's convenient for the airport and river but there is no hiking near to the property. "

When the men arrived at the bottom of the stairs, they were sitting and never responded to the "hello", maybe because of my complexion, whatever, I didn't try to say hello again after that. "The hotel was very nice, the room was clean, the beds comfortable, but the hotel is not located where you can walk to town or the beach. I had thought it would be near the beach area, but it's on the other side of the road. The staff was kind, food was not very quick but was good. "

"I stayed at Kootney Resorts for about 10 days for work and it was fantastic! Trish and Kyle were lovely hosts and tremendously helpful. Kyle in particular helped me repair some of my equipment, gave me all sorts of useful info on where to find things, and hooked me up withe the best cuisine in the area (he's a chef so he knows which places to eat). Since I was there on my own I ended up hanging out with Kyle quite a bit, really great guy with a dry sense of humor I really enjoyed. He also helped me out a number of times processing samples (I was there studying the hot springs). The bungalows were really great, super roomy, really nice, with full kitchens and plenty of space to spread my stuff out. The showers are fantastic! I want one at home. Next time I'm in Dominica I'm definitely staying at Kootney again and I'm bringing my wife, who I'm sure will love it. Can't recommend it highly enough, great place, great people, fantastic experience! "
