At first WiFi to our room did not connect but manager/owner worked diligently and successfully got it working! "Great location, lovely pool! The rooms are spacious. It would. We didn't know until we left that there were some breakfast products available in the building next to the pool. Also, there wasn't any info on the gym. A bit more comprehensive info in English (probably other languages too) would really help. Also, check in time of 5pm is really late, and check out of 10 is too early. I appreciate they need to clean a whole apartment, but its difficult to work with those times."

"The desk staff at this hotel was incredibly unfriendly. We booked two nights total, coming and going. On the second arrival the desk clerk was rude, confrontational and we learned later a liar. The location on the river isn’t worth the toxic environment created by the desk staff. There are better friendly alternatives."

"Compact and well appointed , we liked the sliding shutters that kept out the sun, and tge masses of storage. It would be a great place to spend several days exploring the area. Julien and Angelique are good hosts who made us feel very welcome, and it was lovely to be able to have an excellent dinner there too after a long drive. We felt the only thing that let it down was the minimalist breakfast- not very good value. We would certainly return, but maybe not for breakfast."

"We used Le Mas des Boires as a home base for a family wedding (service in Saint-Jean-de-Côle, reception at Chateau des Boires). The property was beautiful with a wonderful outdoor garden, refreshing pool (although smaller than the picture), and well-appointed stately rooms with private bathrooms (we had two large side-by-side rooms with balconies that overlooked the property. We loved the historic charm of the building - huge manger in the dining room; stone walls, exposed wood beams, etc....

"Beautiful hotel with fantastic heated pool and gorgeous food served by friendly accommodating staff. Great value for money and the hotel is perfectly placed to discover the jewels of the Dordogne such as Perigueux and the cave paintings at Lascaux. The only slight issue is a bit of bliss from the road right behind the pool and the breakfast could have been better for the price. But great stay overall’ "

Sauna Good tennis court Mini golf Lovely view over the fishing lake Clean comfortable rooms Good food Campsite next door with pool and slide and fab fishing lake. Cons: It's in the middle of nowhere. You need a car to go anywhere. We didn't have one! Menu: Although great food, it's French and if you're fussy/have kids, you may find it an issue. Only one staff member speaks English, so...
