"We stayed here as a stopover on our trip for 2 nights. The room was standard, and bed comfortable. There was a musty smell in the room. Small issue, but no hair dryer in the room. The shower was great. We used the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was a nice selection and many options for dinner. The staff service was excellent and friendly."

"Lovely country pub in good location for local tourist sites with friendly and attentive staff. Stayed for one night whilst visiting Beamish Living Museum, nice room, friendly bar downstairs and full cooked breakfast available in the morning. Will be happy to return and would recommend to others."

"Good place to stay. Quite close to route of travel between England and Scotland. Aldi, Petrol station, washing machines, restaurants all around the accommodation. Excellent communication with Joanne for checking in. There is a handy small shared kitchen on the ground floor."

"Traditional village inn run by the community. Food and drink prices very reasonable. Room was clean and comfortable. Noise from bar below stops around 10 pm so wasn't an issue. "

"Arrived late and the agreement was to collect the keys from a lockbox. Everything was as agreed and I was in the room within minutes. So pleased with the outcome as it’s always a worry at that time of night. Everything in the room was ready and I didn’t want for anything "

"We had a lovely time here. We were driven to the starting point of the walk by Catherine, who was fab. Food was delicious, and the room was very cosy and clean. "
