"A very loud fire alarm went off at 4am and went on for quite a while. I was already running on the stairs when it stopped. Goodbye sleep. The following morning I was expecting some apologies but no. When I mentioned it, the guy at the reception very cheerfully said "Oh, that. Yes, there was no fire, it was just a coffee machine. But so we know that the alarm works!" "Away from old town center but walkable.... Reception was not staffed when I arrived, I had to wait until three people who clearly enjoyed their smoke decided to come back in... You have to lock yourself in your room, physical keys so God forbid there is a fire...they locked the front entry door by 7pm... Bed clean, lamps layered with dust you could physically see rise when the light came on... Breakfast and coffee good.... Ear plugs left by side table which I thought was nice and I realized why...
