I’ve researched service charges, and this fee is optional if you choose to decline it, but we only learned about this the next day while reviewing the bill. It’s crucial to be aware of service fees, as they should be optional if communicated clearly. When we contacted the owner, we were told did you read the fine print on the menu. Additionally, we noticed a £1.50 charge for bacon that we did not order. While this could have been a simple mistake, owner offered 1.50 refund and a £30 voucher but we did not reply it was an insult.
