"Carris is one of the best small hotels I have stayed. It is located in a nice area of George Town with easy access to several food joints and restaurants. It is the host Gilbert’s hospitality and guest service which makes this place so special. He lives in the same property and is always available. He personally took me to do my essential shopping on arrival and made me feel at home. He was there to help with everything I needed My five nights stay in Carris felt like I am visiting a long lost friend’s home rather than a hotel. The facilities are very good. There may other accommodations with five star ratings for amenities, but it is rare to find a five star host like Gilbert. "

"No accommodation in Georgetown is worth what they charge. This hotel was not terrible - I would consider it average. Room was ok, breakfast was plentiful if not particularly appealing. Rooms are not cleaned at all during a 5 day stay and you have to dispose of your own trash. Customer service in Guyana in general leaves a lot to be desired so don’t expect much. One thing I liked here was the gate guard asking people which room they were in and checking a roster before letting people enter the premises. "
