"Check in was swift and pleasant. We were shown to the suite (family suite) and was pleasantly surprised. Lovely thick quality duvet and pillows. Tea and coffee available also. Towels were plenty and again good quality. We ate in the bar and the staff were great. Apologies for the names (both lads) Food was lovely. Very enjoyable spur of the moment stay. I would return in a heartbeat."

Public parking around the corner - and its free! Downside is its often full during the day - better to wait until after 5pm if you can. There are plenty of other parking options around the town. All personal preference - but a later check out would have been nice; we are not 10am people!"

"A bit off the beaten track with the last 2 miles being up a single vehicle road but the effort to get there is rewarded with the isolation that one can enjoy. "We had a lovely stay at Kingfisher cottage. The grounds of Maesgwynne Mansions (on which this small courtyard of cottages is situated) are lovely; this time of year flowering rhododendrons are a highlight, and a walk around took us past the fishing lake and neighbouring fields with various farm animals. There are fabulous views, and the outdoor swimming pool had a cover enabling us to use it even in early May. very peaceful & highly recommended."
