"Stayed here a few times in different rooms. This one was different again. Set up in a type of annex little cottage external at the side of the hotel. Didn’t know what to expect but pleasantly surprised. Lovey warm and spacious double room and on suite. Like a little one bed cottage. Road noise wasn’t too bad seeming the lane was close to the main road. Warm and secure all amenities there. Nice little hotel and always happy here. Breakfast had changed to between 0730-0830. Very short time frame....

Public parking around the corner - and its free! Downside is its often full during the day - better to wait until after 5pm if you can. There are plenty of other parking options around the town. "A bit off the beaten track with the last 2 miles being up a single vehicle road but the effort to get there is rewarded with the isolation that one can enjoy. "We had a lovely stay at Kingfisher cottage. The grounds of Maesgwynne Mansions (on which this small courtyard of cottages is situated) are lovely; this time of year flowering rhododendrons are a highlight, and a walk around took us past the fishing lake and neighbouring fields with various farm animals. There are fabulous views, and the outdoor swimming pool had a cover enabling us to use it even in early May. very peaceful & highly recommended."
