"BreakFree is the ideal hotel for a solo traveler wanting to explore Christchurch. Most attractions are easily within walking distance. Most of the single rooms are quite small, but functional with exceptionally comfortable beds. This hotel is ideal for the intrepid traveler that wants to explore Christchurch instead of spending a lot of time in the hotel room. A shout out to the front desk staff who have been professional and gracious during my two stays at this hotel."

"Our room looked onto a internal stairwell and was small and dark. The decor was lovely but the room didn't have much aspect. Ask for a street view room. It was Saturday night and the Roof Top Bar pumped out music to 1.30am but the noise wasn't unbearable more of an nuisance."

"We had an executive studio room which was spacious with a good sized bed and at a good price. Although on a busy road the unit was set back and quiet. There was ample parking for our car and we were also near bus transport so could avoid having to find parking in the city. The negatives were minor - dish cloth not provided until asked, partner found pillows uncomfortable, the rear garden view spoiled by old paint cans."
