"We booked this pub/hotel for a two night stay due to going to a wedding at Hallington Mill a venue approximately 15mins drive away. Arriving on a Friday afternoon we received a lovely friendly welcome and had a evening meal on our first night. We stayed in room 7 a fantastic large bathroom which look brand new. Every member of staff we had dealings with very friendly and helpful. "

"Bowes is perfect for visiting Hadrian’s Wall and the many forts and museums around. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate both nights at the Bowes and the food on both nights was very good. The Thai food was delicious and you could tell it was all freshly prepared and cooked. The bed was comfortable and ideal for us after long walks. We would have no hesitation in staying again."

"Lovely hotel with parking around. Spacious room, comfy beds, the only negative is that it was so warm. Couldn't leave the fan running overnight as it was noisy and couldn't leave the window open as was on to a fire escape which would have meant it was accessible from the outside. Bathroom was fab, loads of toiletries and good shower. Breakfast was freshly made to order and was very nice."
