"A stale kitchen smell hung around the reception and permeated the building. No lights were on and it was like entering a dark cave. I normally like quaint old hotels but this was just down at heel and dispiriting. The photographer must be very clever as the reality was dismal. The sauna was an extra 55 Euros so we didnt use it and didn't eat there as the stale smell was so unappetising. We would not have stayed except that we had booked and paid in advance."

The rooms and common areas of this property are dated but clean and well-maintained. The bathrooms appear remodeled and while they are small, they are extremely functional. "This is a very pleasant hotel where we have stayed before. However rooms are not large and bathrooms are on the small side. Service varies from very charming to quite sullen. The restaurant maintains a high standard with a diverse menu, although the selection does not vary much day by day."
