"On arrival, my Sat Nav was unable to direct me to the entrance of the hotel. I have never been to Leicester before, so I called the reception for a few suggestions how to get into the car park. The receptionist, went above and beyond. She stayed with me on the phone (hands free kit) and guided me to the car park, and was so helpful and reassuring. "We only stayed for one night as we were flying early the next morning. Beds were comfy, TV was nice and big. Only gripe is there is no drink making facilities in the room, free coffee and tea is available near reception, just be nice to have the ability to make a drink in your room. As the hotel is called ibis budget, it's not going to be a premier in or holiday express, for the price we payed, we can't complain"

Just a few things though.. the walls are like paper so if there is someone in the room next door with their tv on, you can hear it as if it’s your own- if their alarm goes off, it will very quickly wake you too etc- if you are on the ground floor and don’t mind people looking into your room when opening the curtains- keep them closed for your trip The room unfortunately, had only 1 working plug socket out of 2 next...

"Had issues with the bath plug and shower temperature. Otherwise spot on, great location, terrific grounds, could not fault the service. Room handy for dogs and you can park outside. Overall we will return, and it is recommended."

"I think this hotel has got a bad reputation from previous reviews but I think you have to contextualise the market that they target. Clearly it is a budget option and the standards obviously mirror this. Could it be better? Yes of course, but then it would be more expensive. I felt it was very convenient for staying the night after a festival I attended, it had everything and more than I needed e.g. clean sheets, warm heater, excellent fast WiFi, TV, clean bathroom/ toiletries, TV and coffee/tea...

"Hotel looks beautiful from the outside and initial impressions are good too, with restaurant obviously just refreshed. Staff were brilliant and very helpful and welcoming. Room was clean but quite dated . Food and drink were great (we ate in the restaurant) and our daft Daisy Dog was made very welcome which was a big plus!"
