"Exterior looks like a building occupied by punkers. Reception was tiny and busy, but effective. We got a day short on our keys, but it was fixed quick enough. Rooms were clean, cool, quiet, and functional. Nothing fancy at all but we had a very good sleep over 3 nights. Showerhead was terrible."

"Be prepared when you check in, you scan a barcode go to a website then upload your passport photos and pay the local tax. Then you get the passcode to get in. Not horrible but should be full explained before you book. -Maybe it was but I didn't see it. Not sure why you can't do it all before arriving at the door. PLace is OK but not deluxe. Owner was very nice and friendly"

"Our stay at Viva rooms was good. The location between the train station and the tourist areas was great. The host was excellent at responding to messages and met us at the hotel. She was really nice and even recommended a book store for us to find a special book. "Great hostel, the beds were spaced wide apart and the bunks very high, so had a feeling of space and privacy. The rooms were stylish and the shared facilities on the whole kept very clean. My only negative was that the air con unit in the dorm I stayed in was VERY loud, it felt like being the bowels of an ocean liner sailing third class by the engines. I got some earplugs which muffled the sound out, so wasn’t too bad the last two nights. "

"The room was nice and clean; the owner seemed a little put out at first because Expedia had overbooked us and she didn’t seem to happy. When we asked her about coffee in the morning she looked at us like we’d lost our mind! It all turned out fine and she had coffee for us in the morning for a small charge. The hotel is beautiful and I wonder what the spa services would be like. We weren’t given any options to utilize them."

"The pod was comfy and quiet, bathrooms were decently clean, but don't be fooled this is not a hostel. There's no common area or any opportunity to talk to anyone, nowhere to even sit, it feels more like a human being storage facility. But it was fine for what it is, I would stay again"

This is an excellent place to stay if you're visiting Kamnik and/or the Kamniška Bistrica Valley. It is situated a few minutes' drive into the valley and is easiest to reach if you have your own set of wheels. The picture does not do the place justice. In reality the surrounding mountains are quite tall. The view from the second floor bathroom is breathtaking 😄
